Saving these artworks faced with different problems. From restorers perspective difficult to restore because of applied different materials: wood, different paints, gilding, silver, metal, plaster and so on. As an example, restoration of an altar with two-sided painting on canvas. Exhibit of Zarasai regional museum, beginning of the 20th century "Our Lady of Sorrows and Nazarene Portable Altar” from the Imbrasas church. Stratigraphic and chemical research of polychrome was made, an altar as a composition of different materials and paintings were restored.
