Within the period in question about 13 000 glass negatives – i.e. mostly dry gelatine glass plates that were owned by Estonian museums and private collections and dated from the late 1880s up to the early 1940s were digitised.
Since 2009 the technique Anagramm-Linhof Master Digi Repro System, Anagramm production scanback MDRS together with software-controlled system Led Repro Lightbox has been used for digitising glass negatives. The high-quality system enables to reproduce photo files of excellent standard that retain all the numerous details on the negatives. The digitised images of the glass negatives are available in databases MUIS, e-VARAMU, EUROPEANA.
