The Kullamaa Manuscript (register of socage holdings, 1524–1532) is a unique relic of Estonian cultural memory. It is the oldest source containing longer texts in Estonian language. At the end of the manuscript on page 142 there are two prayers in Estonian language – the Lord`s Prayer and Hail Mary – and the Creed, all with Latin titles.
The aim of conservation was to improve and stabilize the condition of the binding in order to prevent further damage. The very poor state of the structure compelled to disbind the book. As the original covers were 4–5 mm thick, a new technique of temporal cardboard moulds was used.
